Thigh lift
Removal of excess skin and reshaping of the inner or outer thighs.
What the Procedure Is
A thigh lift corrects skin laxity that does not respond to diet and exercise, often following major weight loss.
Who It May Suit
It suits patients with stable weight, excess skin and general health compatible with body-contouring surgery.
What It Can and Cannot Address
It can reduce folds and improve contour but creates scars and does not treat obesity or cellulite as a whole.
How the Consultation Works
Assessment covers the location of excess tissue, skin quality, likely scars, leg circulation and thrombotic risk.
How the Procedure Is Performed
Excess tissue is removed through groin incisions and, when necessary, a vertical thigh incision. Liposuction may complement contouring in selected cases.
Anaesthesia
The procedure is usually performed under general anaesthesia.
Recovery
Walking resumes carefully, with compression and restricted exertion. The incision location requires particular attention to hygiene and healing.
Risks and Limits
Potential complications include seroma, infection, wound separation, asymmetry, thrombosis, sensory changes and visible scars.
When Results Are Visible
Contour refines over the following months as swelling decreases and scars mature.
