Labiaplasty
Reshaping of the labia when their size or form causes functional discomfort or a persistent concern.
What the Procedure Is
Labiaplasty changes the shape and size of the labia, most often the labia minora, while preservation of function and sensation remains central.
Who It May Suit
It may be considered for discomfort during sport, with clothing or intercourse, marked asymmetry or a carefully assessed aesthetic concern.
What It Can and Cannot Address
It can reduce excess tissue and asymmetry. It does not pursue one standard anatomy and cannot guarantee perfect symmetry.
How the Consultation Works
The confidential consultation covers symptoms, normal anatomical variation, goals, gynaecological history and possible effects on sensation.
How the Procedure Is Performed
Tissue is reshaped using a technique selected for the individual anatomy, with fine absorbable sutures and protection of functional structures.
Anaesthesia
Local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia may be used depending on the case and surgical plan.
Recovery
Swelling and tenderness are expected initially. Local hygiene, loose clothing and temporary avoidance of sport and sexual activity are required.
Risks and Limits
Risks include bleeding, infection, wound separation, asymmetry, painful scars, altered sensation and the need for revision.
When Results Are Visible
Appearance changes as swelling resolves, and the final assessment is made after healing and scar maturation.
